The Invaluable Darkness dei dimmu borgir e' un box set costituito da 2 DVD e da un bonus CD,uscito dopo lo studio album "In Sorte Diaboli",e' una vera e propria chicca per i fans dei demoni norvegesi!!
I signori indiscussi del Symphonic Black Metal,ci regalano un vero e proprio assalto sonoro e visivo,come poche altre bands sono capaci di fare...
Il box si presenta ben curato anche nella veste grafica,copertina,interni e libretto sono veramente ben fatti,come anche la grafica del menu' stesso dei 2 DVD.
Nel primo DVD e' presente un live frutto di un ottimo mix,di due diverse live sessions,filmate durante l'"Invaluable Darkness European Tour",precisamente ad Oslo e a Berlino.
In questo live la band esegue molte canzoni dall'ultimo studio album,ma anche molti pezzi classici come "Sorgens Kammer Del II","Mourning Palace","Puritania" e "A Succubus in Raptur".
Shagrath si riconferma come uno dei migliori frontman sulla scena attuale,cosi' come Silenzos e Galder,riescono a creare un muro sonoro di riffs pesantissimi e cattivissimi.Mustis ci offre con le sue tastiere,delle splendide sonorita' orchestrali e Vortex,oltre ad essere un ottimo bassista,canta le parti in clean vocal,benissimo anche dal vivo.
Nel secondo DVD e' presente integralmente la performance dei Dimmu Borgir al Wacken Open Air festival del 2007,ma non e' tutto qui!!Infatti ci sono anche una fotogallery,ben 50 minuti di documentario "Behind the Scenes" e l'intera collezione di video musicali della band!!
Nel CD bonus invece c'e' la registrazione della performance live al NRK Studio 19 di Oslo.
In conclusione,io sono rimasto veramente sorpreso dalla quantita' e dalla qualita' di materiale presente in questo box e lo consiglio vivamente a tutti i fans dei Dimmu!!
